History of MyWeeklyEats

My Weekly Eats was founded in 2016 by Ashley Reaver, a registered nutritionist, sports dietician, and founder of Ashley Reaver Nutrition, LLC. From the beginning, Ashley shared make-ahead recipes and healthy meal plans to inspire people everywhere to spend more time cooking at home

Throughout the last six years, MyWeeklyEats has been focused on making healthy eating more approachable through nutrition and dietary education. Personal nutrition counseling was an additional service offered to assist those who needed one on one coaching to reach their goals rather than alternatives like apps or generalized weight loss programs for example.

MealPlanPros Purpose & Future Plans

MealPlanPros was founded by husband and wife team, Bob and Jennifer, after they set out on a quest to find the best meal delivery service. As they discovered big differences among the various meal delivery companies, they decided to continue testing and share the results to save the next person the hassle.

Now MealPlanPros has grown to include a team of regular folks on a mission to test and review every meal delivery service available. Also on the team are two registered dieticians, Kristen and Trista, who create the MealPlanPros meal plans to address several common health and dietary needs.

Currently on MealPlanPros.com readers can find more than 50 meal delivery reviews plus comparisons organized by diet, location, types, and people as well as over a dozen meal plans.

Examples of the MealPlanPros’ reviews of dietary-specific meal delivery services include gluten-free, vegan, paleo, Kosher, Halal, low-carb, heart-healthy, organic, dairy-free, and much more.

The various meal plans available as of now include those for the AIP Diet, Carnivore Diet, DASH Diet, Diabetic Diet, Flexitarian Diet, Keto Diet, Carb Cycling Diet, Low FODMAP Diet, New Nordic Diet, Mediterranean Diet, Paleo Diet, Whole30 Diet, as well as one specific to the 21 Day Fix program.

Additionally, MealPlanPros offers readers coupons and informative articles on dietary topics.

Merging MyWeeklyEats with MealPlanPros is an opportunity to build an even more comprehensive health, nutrition, diet, and foodie resource for readers from every background.

MyWeeklyEats was rooted in beginning dietary education in the kitchens of home cooks. MealPlanPros aims to help individuals and families from all walks of life embrace healthy eating and provide a wealth of information surrounding meal delivery companies, and the new wave of nutritious and delicious meals at home.

Though the two companies’ foundations are similar, MealPlanPros plans shift its content to include additional nutritional resources, nutrient-rich recipes to make at home, and new meal plans to take the guesswork out of healthier eating.

These content additions embody the heart of MyWeeklyEats to provide readers with a harmonious and smooth transition to the MealPlanPros community.

Meal Plans & Meal Delivery For Dietary Restrictions

Dietary restrictions and/or preferences are becoming increasingly common. Whether people are following a specific way of eating for their health, a medical condition, religious alignment, allergies, values, or any other reason, it can be difficult to dream up dishes at home.

Unfortunately, it often leads to making the same three to five recipes and eating the same thing over and over again because you don’t know what else fits within your diet. Meal plans and meal delivery services specific to unique diets are the two best solutions to this conundrum.

Don’t know which would be best for you? Let’s talk about the considerations of meal plans versus meal delivery services for all of the most common diets.

Diets with Meal Delivery & MealPlanPros Meal Plans

There are several diets represented on the MealPlanPros site in both the meal delivery and meal plan categories.

Health Condition Diets

Some diets are designed to aid with health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune disorders, and digestive issues. For instance, for those with digestive issues, the Low FODMAP Diet meal plan or one of the Low FODMAP Meal Delivery Services would be excellent. Additionally, the same idea applies to the Diabetic Diet, the DASH diet for hypertension, and the AIP Diet for autoimmune disorders.

Weight Loss & Wellness Diets

In the weight loss and wellness diet categories, MealPlanPros currently offers the Paleo Diet, Carnivore Diet, Mediterranean Diet, and Whole 30 Diet in the meal plan and meal delivery resource categories.

Additional Diet Specific Meal Plans

Though meal delivery reviews will be added for additional diets already included in the current meal plan lineup, as it stands, there are five diets that are only meal plans and the subject of informative articles. These include the Carb Cycling Diet, 21-Day Fix, Keto Diet, Flexitarian Diet, and Nordic Diet

Additional Diet Specific Meal Delivery Services

Diets included in the meal delivery reviews category, but not as meal plans currently include Vegan, Dairy Free, Gluten Free, IBS, Bodybuilding, High Protein, Heart Healthy, Low Calorie, Organic, Pescatarian, Low Sodium, Low Carb, Halal, Kosher, Atkins, CrossFit, Clean Eating, Bariatric, HCG, and Zone. MealPlanPros strives to be your number one resource for exploring all of the dietary options, so expect meal plans following these diets in the future.

Considerations for Choosing Meal Plans Versus Meal Delivery

Now that you know what diets to expect as a meal plan and from meal delivery companies, let’s talk about how to choose between the two.

Choice in Diet

Firstly, your preference for diet is going to play a large factor in determining whether to go with a MealPlanPros meal plan or a meal delivery service. As mentioned above, not every dietary preference is available from meal delivery companies or as a meal plan.

For instance, as someone who follows the carb cycling diet, you’ll have a hard time finding a meal delivery service that adheres to your needs. Therefore, the MealPlanPros carb cycling meal plan would be the best option.

Lifestyle

Another thing to consider before making a choice is your lifestyle. The MealPlanPros meal plans include a seven-day layout of breakfast, lunch, and dinner with detailed recipes and a grocery list. However, you’ll still have to head to the grocery store or get grocery delivery, prep your ingredients, and cook the recipes yourself.

Meal delivery companies either deliver the recipes and exact ingredients you need or fully-prepared meals that are fresh or frozen and ready to heat and eat depending on the company.

Those who are always on the go and do not enjoy cooking 21 meals a week would likely find meal delivery to be more in alignment with their lifestyle. Of course, those who want to control exactly what is in all of their meals and cook daily will love the meal plans.

Household Demographic

Households can have several demographics under one roof that each have their own dietary needs. For instance, families with a baby or kids are going to have different preferences than a single-person household or one with college students or elderly individuals. Meal delivery services cater to this factor much better than meal plans do.

Budget

We all have a budget to follow no matter the way of eating we follow. Meal delivery services have a wide range of pricing depending on whether they offer specialty diets, prepared meals or meal kits, and the quality. Luckily, there are plenty of affordable options for both prepared meals and meal kits including ones that are healthy

However, if you are really on a tight budget, the MealPlanPros meal plans will be an excellent option as the plans themselves are free and you have more control over how much you spend on ingredients.

MealPlanPros Can Help

Based on your answers from the considerations above, you may have already decided which is the better path for you. No matter what you choose, MealPlanPros is the comprehensive collection of dietary resources you need.

However, if you are thinking that meal delivery is worth it and the way to go, you should know that not every service is created equally. For instance, Blue Apron and Hello Fresh are very different from Tovala, Freshly, or Factor Meals

Each meal delivery company always has its own unique approach, even if there are similarities. Splendid Spoon and Veestro are both plant-based, though when compared in detail, you’ll see differences in variety and cost, among others.

Though there is a lot of research to be done to find the exact meal delivery service that is best in your case, you’ll find everything you need at MealPlanPros.com. Use the master comparison chart, competition comparisons, location-based delivery options, and delivery types research to make a final choice, then save with exclusive coupons.
